Define in own words what the color “blue” means to you…

Blue is a primary color. It has connotations of sadness and melancholy. For me, blue also has an association with purity and life, merely because of what is the color of blue. The ocean is blue. Water is the substance of life; it allows us to survive. Often in literature water is used to symbolize rebirth with metaphorical representations of the womb as well as the cleansing ability of water to wash away impurity. Additionally, the sky is blue, a vast expanse of blue, which also gives blue a sense of liberation and happiness, because from our mere view on earth the sky in infinite. Lastly, I believe in most literature blue or soft blues are representations of the Virgin Mary, which reiterates the idea of the purity blue symbolizes. To me blue is a pretty color. It reminds me of my favorite room.
